Biostimulation therapy stimulates collagen and elastin regrowth and is used to restore skin elasticity and firmness. The most popular biostimulants are Sculptra and Radiesse. This treatment delivers compounded proteins that strengthen the body’s natural growth factors. It connects to tissues on a molecular level, and the skin begins to regenerate, resulting in facial fullness, reducing wrinkles, and providing a natural glow. Results appear 8-12 weeks after each treatment. Most patients require 1-3 treatments to achieve desired results.
Radiesse® is a collagen-stimulating dermal filler that is robust enough to fill and lift the skin, and when diluted, it can also improve skin texture and elasticity anywhere on the body. Radiesse® is often used to improve the deeper folds such as the nasolabial folds and marionette lines, and is also a good choice for restoring or enhancing the volume in the cheeks, augmenting the chin and jawline, and it can mask prominent bones & veins in the backs of the hands.
Radiesse® is calcium hydroxylapatite, or CaHA, a dermal filler that provides immediate contouring and stimulates collagen and elastin production. Hyperdilute Radiesse is the process of thinning out Radiesse filler with a mixture of saline solution and Lidocaine. This mixture is injected into areas where the skin shows sagging and looseness. As collagen and elastin begin to grow, the skin firms and tightens. Your results will improve over several months, especially with subsequent treatments.

As we age, we naturally experience volume loss leading to crepey skin, jowling, sagging, deepening lines, thinning of the lips, and loss of skin elasticity. Biostimulants are a great way to help enhance your skin’s appearance and add back that volume into your skin. Advantages of biostimulants include:
During your consultation, your medical provider will evaluate your area of concern and review your medical history. While the risks associated with dermal fillers are minimal, you need to fully disclose your medical history prior to treatment, as certain allergies, skin and neurological conditions, or medications can jeopardize your safety or results. For instance, you need to tell your cosmetic surgeon if you have been taking NSAIDs (e.g., aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen) or blood thinners, as these increase the likelihood of bruising.
Just before the actual treatment, the area will be cleaned, and you may be given a topical anesthetic to numb the area prior to injection. Many filler products also contain lidocaine, a mild anesthetic, which is intended to help minimize discomfort during and after your treatment. Your provider will then inject a precise amount of filler strategically beneath the skin. Depending on the product and the areas treated, you should be able to notice results immediately after receiving filler injections. Some patients experience mild bruising and swelling, but these are temporary and should subside over the days following treatment. You will be able to go back to your normal activities right after treatment, but your medical provider may ask you to take the day off from exercise or other strenuous activity.
Results are immediate and improve gradually over time, you can expect the results to last about 2 years.
Sculptra & Radiesse have become a very popular treatment for face and neck rejuvenation. It builds up the collagen to improve fine wrinkles and restore volume loss of aging. It can also help treat cellulite and wrinkles across the body.
Fillers, that are Hyaluronic Acid based, fill the treatment area and usually lasts 9-12 months. Biostimulants like Sculptra or Radiesse, on the other hand, take things one step further by encouraging your skin to produce its own collagen for repair.
Radiesse is a safe, FDA-approved, non-generation cosmetic dermal filler used to correct facial lines and wrinkles. Years of rigorous clinical studies have concluded that Radiesse lasts longer than the former leading filler to safely fill and correct smile lines, nasolabial folds, and wrinkles around the nose and mouth.
The most common adverse events seen in clinical studies of Radiesse® used in the hands include bruising, redness, swelling, pain, itching, nodules or bumps/lumps, and other local side effects.
