How does it work?

What to Expect

Pre-Treatment Consultation

During your consultation, one of our providers/clinicians will determine if this is an appropriate treatment option for you. Even though there is little to no risk of complication, it is imperative that you share your full medical history, as certain medications, allergies, and skin conditions can make treatment unsuitable for a patient. During the consultation we will:

Review your medical history, including medication use, history of skin disorders or scarring, and past hair removal procedures.
Discuss risks, benefits and expectations, including what laser hair removal can and can’t do for you.
Possibly take photos to be used for before-and-after assessments and long-term reviews

Your Appointment

During your treatment, one of our providers will press a hand-held laser instrument to your skin. Depending on the type of laser, a cooling device on the tip of the instrument or a cool gel might be used to protect your skin and lessen the risk of side effects.

When the laser is activated, the laser beam will pass through your skin to the hair follicles. The intense heat from the laser beam damages the hair follicles, which inhibits hair growth. HOW DO I PREP FOR LASER HAIR REMOVAL TREATMENT?

You’ll be asked to discontinue waxing six weeks before a laser hair removal treatment. You’ll also be asked to avoid sun exposure and spray tans two weeks prior to your appointment.

HOW LONG DO RESULTS LAST?

Laser hair removal provides permanent hair reduction by up to 80 percent after a series of 6-8 treatments.
